So selling gold for cash is banned, but selling in game items for cash isnt?
I suspect with raid instances now dropping BoE + Craftables that this could be an interesting feature for the gold farmers to approach.
A $100 million industry isnt just gonna roll over and die coz China says so... then again I wouldn't want to go up against China >.>

(emphasis mine)Virtual currency, as defined by Chinese authorities, includes "prepaid cards of cyber-games," according to a joint release issued by China's Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Commerce on Friday.
That's tantamount to a ban on WoW, since almost everyone over there pays for WoW via a prepaid card. I suspect the journos got this part wrong, or it's poorly phrased, but if not... damn. That's an interesting move. What with the new filters installed on every Chinese computer, and their bans on net porn, the Chinese government is certainly pushing to stay ahead of the Australian government as far as truly batshit insane internet policy goes.
Who do you think you are? If you'd stopped winning, you could have been the Biggest Loser, if you gave up, you could have been a Survivor, if you'd stopped reading Orwell, you could have been on Big Brother!

In America/Europe. We pay for WoW based on unlimited access, but based on a month to month basis.
In China, play time is limited (5 hours max a day?). So the billing is different?

No idea... maybe they buy prepaid cards with a set number of hours? Either way, the query stands.
