Schwarzenegger wrote:"America is so addicted to oil it will take us years to wean ourselves from it and to look for new ways to feed our addiction is not the answer."
A totally accurate comment, and he's talking from experience given his renown for owning hummers and a tank.

Who doesn't own a tank in the USA? It's like the right to bear arms also includes the right to a 40ton main battle tank.

This guy is fucking MacGuyver....

The machine normally has a safety system that stops the laser when the lid is opened, but the teenager, under the screen name Tetranitrate, managed to bypass that with a six-sided die and a magnet.
Safety System Bypass = Six-Sided die and a Magnet...

I can't imagine MacGuyver is too keen on that. Does he have him ball-gagged or something?

And if my thought-dreams could be seen
They'd probably put my head in a guillotine
But it's alright, Ma, it's life, and life only.

Use it or loose it folks
I've chosen to loose mine. That way I'm not responsible for its actions.

Would you put your brain in a robot body?

You'd have the strength of 5 gorillas!

But why so short?

I'd do it... if it were the body of Robot Nixon.
Now my cat won't eat regular food, honestly if I knew it was going to be this must trouble I would have just buried that hooker.

Just... Let me make sure I have this straight...

http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,24 ... 09,00.html

A kid causes $20,000,000+ in damages.

He gets "paid" $40,000 for his part in it.

He gets caught.

He is convicted.

He is forced to pay $11,440.05 back in damages.

He walks free.

So in summary. He made $29,000 and walked free for credit card fraud and possible identity theft and whatever else...

And now the same people who caught and convicted him want to offer him a job...

I am so in the wrong fucking profession...

A-yep.

Wernher von Braun made rockets for the Nazis. Bombed the crap out of the allies.

Then the US swooped in, stole him away and gave him a full time job tinkering with rockets for them.

When someone is clearly a unique spark, I guess you have to make use of that as best you can, in spite of past offences.

I thought it was pretty funny that he walked away with almost 30k of his ill-gotten gains though - if they can prove he made 40 grand off cyber crime, I'd have thought they'd have confiscated that off him. Oh well.

It's important to note that this isn't just a case of right place, right time - plenty of script kiddies have pulled virus and security stunts in an ettempt to get hired by security or AV companies - mostly they're insignificant.

Whatever this kid has done must've been pretty impressive.
