Well I doubt these would ever air in the states. Something simple like AIDS KILLS could be just as effective. I wouldn't be comfortable watching tv with a little one around and that scene were to come on :o. Uncomfortable enough with the Cialis/Viagra and the worst Enzyte advertisements. The Enzyte one's can be funny though, my sons like whats funny about the North Pole?

I have to agree with advertising and kids. there needs to be times when its ok to play adult adds but leave the kiddies times to themselves. Tv, Radios, Billboards - is it any wonder that our kids lose their virginity at 12?

And as for aids, its not new if people are sooo stupid so as not to practice safe sex then its darwinism at work to me. I feel more sorry for people whom do catch it mistakenly. IE partner lying about having it or being raped or needle jabs etc.

I remember reading an article in Time Magazine, that kids are actually hitting puperty earlier than say 10-15 years ago, as young as 8,9 or 10.

yea I've read stuff about that. Cause I remember the debate on whether its our diets that cause it.

The problem is there is simply no such thing as "safe sex". There is a transmission risk even under experimentally ideal conditions (the gold standard to which everyone is presumably expected to aspire in their practice of "safe sex").

The people I feel sorry for are the ones who have been duped into thinking that there is such a thing as "safe sex" at all. If you ask them now, whether it was worth the risk, I guarantee they would say they wish they'd thought twice.

True, no sex is guaranteed safe. But unfortunately its still not something people really think about in the heat of the moment. The population who catch aids from "safe sex" must be minimal compared to the rest. I also know a lot of young people consider if the female is on a pill nothing else is needed cos all they really fear is pregnancy.

Actually most research is finding the opposite. The majority of infections are from people who believed they were following safe practices, in places where safe practice is emphasised. Of course this doesn't discount transmition from rape, or from infected fluids (eg blood), but the terrifying fact is people are being told that they are safe in spite of the bulk of research demonstrating otherwise.

Worse still is that people are afraid of pregnancy. How can people be so brazen about disease (which in many cases is incurable) but stress about what is, fundamentally, a natural human function? The world has gone mad.

Tell me about it. There's hyperbole at every turn!

To stir the metaphorical, and rile up Sparton:

Are you suggesting that pregnancy is "curable", sir?

Or merely suggesting just that STD's are more of a permanent affliction, in general, than unplanned pregnancy?

See now, apparently it would be terribly inappropriate for me to make an abortion joke at this point.

Except Alley already made one. Nice one, Alley.
