I am on a new computer and just accidentally downloaded something dodgey (not what you think!), where can I get a good (free) anti-virus thingy?

Thanks!

Provided you have a legitimate version of Windows, Microsoft Security Essentials is the best one I've ever used (better than the ones that cost moolah):

...if you don't have a legitimate version of Windows, then I guess AVG is okay. They're just as bad the viruses half the time.

Also, no matter what you do, run this:

"Hijack This!" looks for dodgy stuff in your startup apps, etc.

Hope you get it sorted, Zoe.

Rule number 1 of virus scanners.... only have 1 active at any given time.

Hijack this! is an exception, but yeh.

Actually, I had Webroot running on my machine at the same time as MSE - I think SE does some kind of voodoo to hide itself when some other scanner comes along.

yeah it's not a virus scanner, it a startup/registry scanner

mmmm I've seen cases where this is not true. it's possible the well meaning folk managed to override the defaults.... but it's something I wouldn't recommend doing - if you aren't fully aware of what you are doing.

I saw Zoetica Disc priest lvl 79 in a WSG last night. Had to lay down the Holy Judgement to kill her. I thought it may have been Zoe :D

Ohhh Lel was that the match where you guys were winning 2-0 and we came back and won? If so I liked that one. Yeah all that guy did was complain about how bad prot is in PvP and he was shit, though I've come across some good ones that lock out all of my healing spells, ouch. I like being disc alot though.

Yes Rico I plan to be a JC in Cata and will probably be a gnome priest so I can still undercut you in the future! Mwahaha :D
