Security Alerts - Account Hacking

Post by Cartollomew » 30 Sep 2006, 22:13

Recently there's been a spree of account hacking all over the realms in WoW... so far as I can determine, the vast majority are the result of keyloggers that install themselves via a security hole in Internet Explorer.

(Although there are reports that there are "addons" which are really keyloggers. It's best to avoid any addon that has an executable, or .exe file required at this time.)

In short:
Internet Explorer is bad pie. We'd urge all our members to switch their primary browser to one of the following:

Opera:
http://www.opera.com/

Firefox:
http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/

Both are much better in terms of conforming to standards, and both are far, far superior to IE in terms of security.

Who do you think you are? If you'd stopped winning, you could have been the Biggest Loser, if you gave up, you could have been a Survivor, if you'd stopped reading Orwell, you could have been on Big Brother!
